CHRONICLE

The long view — how the game got here.

Aggregators are built for “now.” Chronicle is the part of the Archive built for time. How factions rise and fall across editions. How a single balance pass reshapes a year of meta. How an army’s identity drifts across rules cycles. Data is plentiful in the moment; what’s harder is keeping memory.

WHAT’S HERE NOW
Nothing yet — this section is a Phase 2 build. Edition retrospectives, faction arcs, and balance post-mortems are the first deliverables; drafts are tracked in the idea register.
COMING IN PHASE 2
Edition Retrospectives
What each edition (8th, 9th, 10th) actually did to the game, looked at from the other side. What got better, what got worse, what didn’t survive.
Faction Arcs
Multi-edition trajectories for each army. Where each faction has been and where it’s pointing.
Balance Pass Post-Mortems
After each significant update, a measured look at what changed and what didn’t, written six months on rather than six hours on.
Comparative Meta Eras
Side-by-side reads of distinct eras: the Indomitus opening, the late-9th lockstep, the 10th-edition reset.

Memory is not an algorithm. Chronicle is the Editor’s section as much as the Archivist’s — the one place opinion is intentionally part of the form.
